USA: The multiple origins of President Barack Obama.

In October 2008, Hans-Christian Gunther, head of archives Bischwiller (12,800 inhabitants), 30 km from Strasbourg in Alsace, revealed the existence of a Swiss ancestor in the family tree of Barack Obama.
The newspaper "L'Alsace" says the American genealogists have concluded that Obama has roots in Alsace-Germano 4.6865%.
"Bischwiller is the only French city to have  the ancestors of Obama," he said.
To find his history, the archivist was based on information from the land books of the eighteenth century.
"I wrote to U.S. President himself. Because the board has decided to award him the title of honorary citizen and to submit the document, "notes Hans Etter, President of City Council Ried bei Kerzers. Because it has 0.97% of Fribourg blood in the veins.
Starting point, the village of Bischwiller, about thirty miles from Strasbourg.
First, Hans Gutknecht (Bischwiller, 01.18.1691 - 18.07.1782) married Anna Barbara Kieffer (Bischwiller, 25/03/1688 -4/03/1726). They have a son Christian Gutknecht (Bischwiller born June 22, 1722).
On the other hand, Johann Michael Grunholtz (Bischwiller, 24/12/1688 -25/03/1735) married Magdalena Mitscher (born in the Bischwiller 08/05/1688). They have a daughter, Maria Magdalena (born 04/25/1725).
On April 25, 1746, Christian married Maria Magdalena Grunholtz Gutknecht. In 1749, they emigrated to the United States, settled in Germantown in Pennsylvania and anglicisent their name Goodnight (with a small spelling error, they should have called GoodKnight).
Their son, Samuel (1761-1845) married Magdalena Berkheimer. He has a daughter, Catherine, who married Jacob Mackey Dunham in July 1853.
Their son and grand-son are Jacob William Dunham (1863-1936) and Ralph Waldo Emerson Dunham (1894-1970). Their great grand-son, Stanley Armour Dunham (1918-1992) married May 5, 1940 Lee Madelyne Payne (26 October 1922-2 November 2008).
Their daughter Ann (1942-1995) married, February 2, 1961, a Kenyan student in Economics, Barak Hussein Obama.
Their son, Barack Hussein, born in Honolulu Aug. 4, 1961, was officially elected President of the United States December 15, 2008.
In 2009, President Barack Obama received at the White House, a large Mormon delegation, led by Thomas Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Having assembled a strong material, the latter told him that he had French origins. He descended from Mareen Duvall a son of French Huguenot who had married the granddaughter of a Richard Cheney arrived in Maryland in late 1650.
Which proves that he shares the same ancestors as Dick Cheney, former vice president of both Presidents Bush. Duvall had fled France after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes (1685) for England and Maryland.
"I am grateful for the genealogical records that the delegation of the Mormon Church came to bring me and I look forward to consult with my daughters. It's something my family will cherish for years to come, "thank the new U.S. president Obama.
