Gabon: President El Hadj Omar Bongo Odimba, King of Bateke.

In 1974, invited to Kinshasa by President Mobutu Sese Seko (1930-1997), during the Animation Festival politics, President Bernard Omar Bongo (1935-2009) is dumbfounded by the folk group particularly active and picturesque of the tribe "Bateke."

President Mobutu turned to him and explained that Bateke are one of the most primitive tribes of Bandundu and they also inhabit the Congo Brazzaville. But Bongo did not listen and continues to madly cheering up at the VIP. Everyone believed swept away by the beauty of their dancing and their accoutrements.

After the ceremony, during the official dinner hosted his counterparts from the President of Zaire, Gabon's President announces his desire to restore the kingdom Bateke in Central Africa and to proclaim himself "King of Bateke."

The Zairian (Congolese) were unaware that Bongo was Mutek and had its origins in Bandundu!
