Gambia: Gambian constitution replaced by the Koran!

President Yahya Jammeh said that now the Holy Quran will rule the Gambia and not the constitution, reported the website Gambia "Freedomnewspaper"

"I'm not afraid to say anywhere, in any part of the world, and to any person as a Muslim. I only Almighty Allah. And the Islamic Republic of The Gambia, will really be an Islamic country, "he said.

"We are an Islamic state based on the Holy Qur'an (...). Islam is the most noble religion and it will last that people like it or not. And I will not put at risk my religion because Islam is the religion of Allah (...) The Constitution is the Koran because it is through it that we will be judged, "he said in front of many invited foreign Arabs.

A captain, a career soldier ...

Came to power in 1994 by a military coup, Yahya Jammeh (50 years), military career was first elected in 1996 and re-elected three times (in 2001, 2006 and then in November 2011 with 72% voice). Since then, he reigns supreme over his country surrounded by Senegal except its coastline and its 2 million inhabitants (95% Muslim and 5% Christian).

He passed in 2002 a constitutional amendment removing the limit on the number of mandates. His regime is accused by N.G.O. enforced disappearances, assassinations, extrajudicial killings and harassment of the press and defenders of human rights, charges he has repeatedly denied.

So beware of poor Gambians have not read or understood the Qur'an! But which, that of the Islamic State and Boko Haram or the other, the  Islam of lights?

"Quousque tandem Yahya Jammeh abutere patientia nostra? Quamdiu etiam furor iste tuus our eludet? quem ad finem sese effrenata iactabit audacia ?, ( "How long, Yahya Jammeh you indulge and abuse our patience? How long your folly will it challenge us? How far is your audacity brazen it unleashes? "would have exclaimed Tillius Marcus Cicero (106-43 B.C.), if he was the president of the African Union today!
