Japan: The humanitarian impulse of the Yakuza

This fascinating Japanese spirit!

The Japanese never cease to amaze the World. Faced with the biggest natural disaster, residents of the rising sun demonstrate a spirit of sacrifice of a rare solidarity and exceptional courage.
Even among the Yakuza! In the imagination of the rest of the world, the Yakuza that Westerners liken to the Sicilian Mafia and fascinate both disgusted.
With their huge tattoos that often cover the entire body and violent initiation ceremonies by cutting the ear, they are simply afraid.

But who are these monsters with a big heart?

Information from their blog: is how the Yakuza are possible:
"The word Yakuza, also known as the Gokudo means the member of an organized crime group known Japan, exclusively male, or by extension any rogue Japanese. The yakuza are represented by four major unions present throughout the archipelago, and also have ramifications in the Pacific region and even in Germany and the United States. In Japanese legal terminology, yakuza organizations are referred Bōryokuda, literally "violent group."  Yakuza consider this term as an insult, because it applies to any violent criminal. "
But, unlike the Sicilian Mafia, which they share methods to swindle, or to murder (and the law of silence), they are primarily Japanese and are capable of compassion and even generosity.
Their revenues come primarily from extortion, protection services, financial fraud, and illegal stock transactions, of Paris, blackmail, prostitution and loan sharking.
In Japan, even if police monitors them, they act in broad daylight: they have offices, business cards, and fanzines. The three main clans organizations claiming to be chivalrous, the Ninkyo-employed. The Ninkyo (do), say the specialists in the history of the yakuza is a philosophy which foregrounds the humanity, justice and responsibility and where it is forbidden to watch someone suffer without doing anything.
Expected of those who follow "the way" to sacrifice to help the weak and disadvantaged people. It is different in practice.
After being viciously attacked and scarred on the face and neck by five members of the Yamaguchi-gumi because of the negative image he gave them in his films, filmmaker Juzo Itami, author of the film "No Mimbo onna "said:
"The yakuza are merely exploiting the weak and disadvantaged, and they flee before anyone has the strength to resist them and refuse their extortion"

"Under my jacket beat a weary heart but hey, who would not hurt anyone"

After capturing "Two Gun" Crowley, the chief of police, Mulroney said: "This man is one of the most dangerous criminals I have known.  He killed for nothing. "
On May 7, 1931, one hundred and fifty police besiege "Two Gun" Crowley Francis (1911-1932) in his mistress's apartment on West End Avenue in New York.
Armed to the teeth, they fired on him for over an hour on him in the eyes of ten thousand people excited. They same roof for him firing tear gas.
Protected behind a sofa upholstered drawing incessantly at the police, a bloodied hand, he scribbled these words down on paper for those who would find his body: "Under my jacket beat a heart tired but good, and that would make hurt anybody. "
He had yet to shoot at close range with his own revolver, a police officer who had the misfortune of asking his driver's license in Long Island!
Sentenced to the chair in public in Sing Sing prison in the United States January 21, 1932, before dying he exclaimed: "You son of a bitch. Give my love to my mother. "
This story told by Dale Carnegie in "How to make friends" could apply to the Japanese Yakuza, one of whose members said after the earthquake of March 11, 2011: "Nobody yakuza Katagi (ordinary people) and gaijin (abroad) today. We all need to help ourselves. "

Nor Yakuza, nor Katagi, nor Gaijin, we're all Japanese!

Indeed, hours after the devastating earthquake on March 11, 2011 (9.0 on the Richter scale) and the Tsunami that hit Japan and is 11,232 dead and 16.361disparus in coastal areas of northeast and east, two major criminal organizations located in Tokyo Japan have sent food, water and blankets in the affected areas.
Between March 12 and dawn of March 13, 2011, the Inagawa-kai, the third Japanese mafia has sent 25 truckloads of diapers, instant noodles, batteries and flashlights and beverages in the region Tohoku offshore northeast of the island of Honshu. For these donations are not refused, he was no mention anywhere of their provenance.
It took them twelve hours to make the journey from Tokyo to the town hall of Hitachinaka.  And as if to prove their invulnerability, the Yakuza have gone in irradiated unprotected and took potassium iodide recommended! An official from Somiyoshi-kai, the second largest Yakuza family even offered hospitality to strangers. Unheard of among reported xenophobic!
In January 1995, after the Kobe earthquake (7.0), the Yamaguchi-gumi had already distinguished by his generosity by sending and distributing food to the people of Kobe.

Robins Wood of modern times!

Knowing full well that most of this food is paid for by money extorted by violence often to Japan for many years, one wonders if the Yakuza, the Japanese believe that sometimes a necessary evil, do not consider themselves not simply as "Robin Hood" of modern times!
According to a study conducted by the police prefecture of Nara, an adult over 40 years in ten believes that we should leave the Yakuza exist or they are a "necessary evil".
Ultimately, such as Al Capone, Frankie Yale, "Two Gun" Crowley, Dutch Schultz, John Dillinger, etc., were products of Prohibition in the United States in the years 1919-1930, Yakuza are the products of over-consumption and poor development of the cause of radioactivity that threatens Japan today!

"At the last election, 93% of Belarusians voted for me, I gave the order so the score is not 93% but about 80%. Because over 90%, it does not pass not psychologically", he said in an interview with the newspaper Izvestia in August 2008.

Between legend and historical facts

The legend presents him as a king magician always accompanied by his faithful pygmy (Mutwa), his dogs with indelible impressions of his monkey. His footprints could still be observed in the sixties on the lava rocks in the volcanic plain of Jomba, in the region of Rutshuru in North Kivu (!). Again according to legend, Ruganzu II Ndoli milked milk from heaven to feed his kingdom.
Conqueror, he became the first king to build a national army from his personal guard "Ibisumizi" which are embedded in other companies. He entrusted the command to Muvunyi to be replaced later by his trusted advisor Mpande Rusange ago. Recruitment is from the age of ten years.
He leads a war against Ndorwa (southwestern Uganda) and conquered successively Bunyambiriri the Bwishyaza the Itambire, Kinyaga and Bugoyi. He reorganized the administration and replaces drum Rwogera by Kalinga dynasty (whose production is entrusted to the Minyaruko Busiga) to which it adds other ritual drums.
He establishes the worship of Gihanga whose fire maintained in a sanctuary in the royal court was never extinguished. He establishes the contract customer "Ubuhake" known in neighboring Burundi by the name of "Ubugabire." Under this contract, the boss (shebuja) provides one or more heads to his client (umugaragu) while reserving the bare property these cattle.
In return, he ensures the client's protection. In return, the client must attend the boss at every opportunity and became his servant (umuhakwa). The relationship is hereditary and only the owner is entitled to break it and claim not only the return of the original cattle but also all the cattle of the client .
This contract becomes the pillar of the kingdom Nyiginya will be officially abolished in 1953 by Christian Mwami, Charles Rudahigwa Mutara III (1912-1959) under pressure from the Belgian colonial administration and the Catholic Church.

The tragic end of Umbopa and his legacy

It was at Ruganzu Ndoli reign that the kingdom of Rwanda must practice as the feast of first fruits (Umuganura) and Mourning (Gicurasi) to celebrate the death of his father Ndahiro Cyamatare II.
He  establishes tax (inkuke) and human sacrifice at the inauguration of the new Mwami. He reinforces his army divided into eight militia to conquer the Bushi (Bunyabungo), the Bunyambiriri (Gikongoro) and the entire region of volcanoes.
During a military campaign in Rusenyi, he was badly wounded in the eye and died at the Matyazo Nyantango in 1543 leaving the throne to Mutara I Semugeshi Nsoro Muyenzi alias.
In 1950, he inspired the character "allegory" of Umbopa in "King Solomon's Mines", the movie became a classic of Compton Bennett (1900-1974) and Andrew Marton (1904-1992) starring Stewart Granger (1913-1993), Deborah Kerr (1921-2007) and Richard Carlson (1912-1977).
"Inganzo za Mushonga", name of an iron mine by extension becomes royal and figuratively a wealth of treasures "Inganzo." Is this perhaps why some European legends placed the mines of King Solomon (another King wise) in Rwanda?

Hosni Mubarak: The Man who ruled Egypt with emotion!

“El-Hamdou lillah",Thank God, we escaped the worst!

November 19, 2003, President Hosni Mubarak, who was 75 years, delivered the traditional speech opening the parliamentary session in the gallery of the Majlis al-Shaab (People's Assembly).
The speech was broadcast live on Egyptian state television. Suddenly the image is interrupted. Before cutting off the image, Hosni Mubarak coughed several times and then releases a handkerchief from his pocket to wipe the sweat on his forehead.
When the image returns, the president is gone. You can see the members who are agitated over their banks and in the corridors. Viewers fear the worst. The small Egyptian people deeply moved holds its breath.
A few minutes later, the announcer announces with deep voice that the president has suffered a "mild discomfort". A Muslim MP and an Orthodox priest are appointed to lead prayers for the health of the Raïs.
A few yards away, the Information Minister, Safwat el-Sherif told reporters that "the President is fasting, despite a cold for which he is treated with antibiotics..."
To reassure the world, the Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Ahmed Fathi Sorour mounted the rostrum and announced that the president is fine and will return in a few minutes. Forty-five minutes later, the Egyptian viewers grow a large sigh of relief when they finally see  back the image of President Mubarak a hint of a smile with a hello hand. He is greeted by applause from MPs.
Pale, yet he greets, punctuating his appreciation of "El-Hamdou lillah" and still speak for five minutes before disappearing.
Without further explanation, Dr. Mohammed Awad Tageddine, Minister of Health explains to television: "With the drugs and the heat, just undergone an electrocardiogram and analysis. He goes well and is in perfect health. With medication and heat, he felt that his blood dropped.

The miracle of the massacre "Mednet Nasr"

On October 6, 1981 at the military parade on Medinet Nasr in Cairo, four military insurgents under the command of Khalid Islambouli stormed the gallery. Hand and unload their automatic weapons on the Egyptian president, Anwar Sadat, sat in the front row. Two bodyguards tried in vain to protect the Raïs who just blew up. Two assailants, fundamentalist Muslims continue to shoot him. Everything is filmed live like a war movie.
Reached by fifteen balls, Anwar El-Sadat died upon arrival at the hospital. Just sitting on his right, Hosni Mubarak, then vice-president emerged unscathed with a slight hand injury.
During the assault, many dignitaries were wounded, including James Tully, then Irish Minister of Defence. Others are killed, including the Cuban ambassador in Egypt and an Orthodox Bishop. The assassination of President arouses strong emotions in Egypt. With this emotion, on October 13, 1981, the Egyptian Parliament appoints the miracle of "Medinet Nasr”, General Mohammed Hosni Mubarak to succeed him.

Attacks of bloody Muslim brothers.

Triumphantly re-elected in October 1999 for a term of six years, he was the target of nine assassination attempts fomented by Gamaat al-Islamiya, whose last September 6, 1999, was attributed to an imbalanced.
But the most spectacular is the one held in Addis Ababa, on June 26, 1995. Several snipers armed with Kalashnikovs and RPG-7, had targeted his car. "I was calm all the time because there is God, and nobody can live longer than it resolves," said he admitted afterwards.
The assassination attempt took place during transit from the Bole International Airport and the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa. Despite the extraordinary security measures taken by his security chief, General Omar Souleymane installed alongside him in the armoured limousine.
Moreover, he is out of the car with the presidential guards to shoot at the attackers. Three assailants were killed and several wounded Egyptian soldiers.
According to witnesses, attackers in a Land Cruiser emerged from a side street and tried to block the presidential convoy. Meanwhile, four terrorists arise on board a grey Volvo sedan pulling shots. Other snipers on rooftops sniped at the convoy. The driver of Mubarak manages to turn back to the airport. At the scene of the attack, the Ethiopian police find two rocket launchers and bomb, that the Muslim Brotherhood did not have time to use.
"When Hosni Mubarak has dared to go to Addis Ababa to attend meetings of the OAU, the son of the prophet Moses (Muslim Brotherhood) rose up against him, had ruined his plans and returned home terrorized and horrified that he has poured accusations against the Sudan, "said Hassan al-Turabi in a speech by the official Sudanese Agency.

Instead of weakening, his misfortunes strengthen him!

The attack against Hosni Mubarak in Addis Ababa 26 June 1995 Security Council urges the UN to pass a series of resolutions:
-On January 30, 1996, resolution 1044 adopted unanimously condemned the terrorist activities of his regime and urged the Sudanese regime of Omar al-Bashir to surrender the perpetrators of the attack.
-On April 26, 1996, the Security Council adopted the resolution 1054 (abstention by China and Russia) stipulates that "all States shall take measures to restrict the entry of members of the Sudanese government and Sudanese Armed Forces on their territory and transit through this territory. "
Pursuant to the resolution, all states reduce their diplomatic staff in Sudan and restrict the number of visas issued to officials.
- Finally, the Resolution 1070 passed on August 16, 1996, agreed to an embargo against the airline "Sudan Airways.
Sudan became a State becomes a "rogue state" that the United States eager to include in the list of states sponsors of terrorism!

A delicate operation of the gall bladder.

In 2004, at age 76, he is officially operated for 40 minutes of a "slipped disc" in the trauma unit of University Hospital Centre (CHU) in Munich, Germany. In fact, it was a delicate operation "of the gall bladder" in the hospital in Heidelberg, Germany. This operation would have revealed a "terminal cancer", stated a few weeks later the Jerusalem Post.
The pan-Arab newspaper “al-Quds al-Arabi " revealed that the Egyptian president had undergone several tests at the hospital for investigation of armed Percy, Clamart, France. According to these test results, he had one year to live. It was without counting on this "Baraka" inscribed in his name, which protected him since coming to power in 1981.
In March 2010, he returned to Heidelberg hospital to undergo an ablation of the gallbladder that showed her cancer of the pancreas and stomach. At the same time, he had made remove a polyp of the duodenum.
The desire of one's political opponents called "Laughing Cow" because of his forced smile during official ceremonies was to die in power on "the land of Egypt."

Mubarak released!

On 11 February 2011, after 29 years in power the fate of Rais decided otherwise. One million Egyptians gathered during eighteen days instead of Liberation or "Did tahryr Mydans » in Cairo has put a damper on their emotions and he responded in chorus" Mubarak emerges.
"This is the happiest day of my life", exclaimed the Nobel Peace Mohammed El-Baradei

The United States, Belgium, D.R. Congo and the honor of Ota Benga.

Pygmy born in 1881 in Kasai (now DR Congo). Small (like all pygmies), then it is 23 years old, measuring 1.45 m, weighing 47 kg.. He is married with two children.
After the removal of his tribe and his family by the Police Force of the Independent State of Congo, he is captured, caged and taken to the United States by the explorer Samuel Phillips Verner American pastor of the Presbyterian Church.
In 1904, he was exposed to the World's Fair St. Louis (New Orleans) with two orang-utan (Dinah and Dohung) and other chimpanzees.
From September 8, 1906, he is acquired by the Director Dr. William Temple Hornaday (1854-1837) who lodged him in a cage at the zoo and introduces visitors to the Bronx Zoo in New York as the "missing link" between man and monkey (on the advice of the Director of the American Museum of Natural History, Hermon Bumpus).
Some Sundays, the Zoo received up to 40,000 visitors. As it had sharp teeth, he was making faces. He let himself photographed with a monkey. His head cast in plaster and was exhibited in a museum.
The American press called him, the Piltdown Man or Nebraska. Following the protests, he came out first from the monkey cage and allowed the zoo before being released. Placed in the orphanage "Howard people of color" in Brooklyn and then engaged in a tobacco factory in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Aware that he could neither return to the Kasai or adapt to the U.S. where he was deeply humiliated, Ota Benga whose name means "Friend" sinks into depression, takes a gun and committed suicide March 20, 1916.
As the South African Khoikhoi Saartjie Baartman (1789-1815), nicknamed "The Hottentot Venus", he deserves to be rehabilitated by Belgium, the United States and honored by the Democratic Republic of Congo!

Michel Daerden, the Gainsbourg Belgian politician

"I missed my career. I should be an artist! I dreamed of being a singer, but I navigate better in the numbers" says Michel Daerden, then Minister of Finance, Budget and Facilities Belgian Francophone region in the set of "Focus", a broadcast by Radio Télévision Belge Francophone (RTBF). It is a picturesque French-speaking Socialist, elected with 60,000 votes in the province of Liege brought to alcohol.
"For twenty years, periodically, people think I'm drunk."
He said if it did, he could hardly carry the busy career that is his: auditor, member, minister, mayor, etc..
In 2006, a journalist of Radio Belgian television (RTBF), with him a few days later asked if he was indeed "drunk", he replied "no more than usual." When he was appointed Minister of pensions, it caused a scandal in Flanders.
"The clown who screaming Walloon Flanders" said the newspaper "De Standaard" which states that the "Francofolies" do not entertain the Flemish part of the country.
Michel Daerden invokes "psychomotor" and dyslexia to explain the slowness of his speech.
Enough to supply the Flemish-Walloon conflict in Belgium!
